Margie Lea (Parker) Beck, 97, of Gainesville, TX, passed away July 24, 2023 in Gainesville.

Margie was born July 16, 1926 in Hico, TX.  She graduated from Hico High School in 1943.  Several years later, she met her future husband, Claude Beck, in passing at the local dry cleaners.  He had just returned from serving in Germany during WWII.  They married one year later on July 18, 1947.  The young family moved to the Gainesville area in the early ‘50s.  Mrs. Beck was an active member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.  She enjoyed traveling, cooking, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing dominos with her friends.  Mrs. Beck’s most treasured times were spent being a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include: son Scotty Beck and wife Lynn of Ortonville, MI; son Bob Beck and wife Bobbi of Gainesville; daughter Claudia Wiginton and husband Jerry of Gainesville; grandchildren: April Goodin and husband Ken, Corey Beck, Dustin Beck, Lee Beck, Madison Sizemore and husband Cody, Nicol Orndorff and husband Jason, and Tiffany Lake and husband Kyle; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister LaVerne Turner of Hico.

Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by: parents Hardy and Rosa (Patterson) Parker; husband Claude Beck; and brother-in-law Ralph Turner.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Hillcrest Church of Christ, Gainesville.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
