Marie Rose Koelzer

Graveside services for Marie Koelzer, 88, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at St. Peter’s Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Tatyrek officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to a Rosary service that is to begin at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Koelzer passed away December 25, 2020 in Gainesville.

Marie was born April 13, 1932 in Amarillo, TX to Leo and Rosa (Voth) Neusch.  She was raised in Amarillo before moving to Lindsay, where she graduated high school.  Marie married Victor Koelzer on June 22, 1954 in Lindsay.  She worked at CertainTeed in Wichita Falls and Weber in Gainesville but her true calling was as a mother, and eventual grandmother and great-grandmother.  Mrs. Koelzer was a devoted mother and member of the Catholic faith.  She was a successful dog breeder and enjoyed hunting for treasures at garage sales.

Survivors include: husband, Victor Koelzer of Gainesville; son, Kenneth Koelzer and wife, Debbie of Gainesville; daughter, Ginger Stoffels of Gainesville; grandchildren: Angela Hacker and Adam Koelzer and wife, Tiffany; great-grandchildren: Chase, Nichole, and Elizabeth Hacker, Joshua and Raymond Koelzer, and Zackary Hankins; brother, Clarence Neusch and wife, Sandra of Gainesville; brother, Lawrence Neusch and wife, Clara of Gainesville; and sister, Emma Pelzel of Gainesville.

Mrs. Koelzer was preceded in death by: parents, Leo and Rosa Neusch; sister, Bertha Knabe; son-in-law, David Stoffels; brother-in-law, Gene Pelzel; and great-granddaughter, Victoria Marie Hayes.
