Funeral services for Marie Wilson, 83, of Gainesville, are set for 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Mt. Olive First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jacoby Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Marie was born on September 21, 1937 in Wynnewood, OK to Howard Ward Sr. and Queen Esther (Reece) Ward. She passed away on June 4, 2021 in Gainesville.
Marie is survived by her daughter Alice Jackson of Gainesville, daughter Linda Wilson of Gainesville; daughter Sarah Pleasant and her husband Jessie of Little Elm; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her sister Esther Johnson and her husband Robert of Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nathingle Wilson; daughter Shirley Franklin; bro Johnny Ward; sister Ola Mae Jefferson; brother Andrew Ward; brother Howard Ward Jr.; brother Roy Ward; and brother Troy Ward.
