Marie Helen Zimmerer

Marie Helen Zimmerer, 98, died peacefully in her sleep on November 29, 2020, in Gainesville, TX.

Marie was born in Lindsay, Texas on February 10, 1922 to Herman and Rose Kuhn Zimmerer.  She attended school in Lindsay and helped on the family farm.  Marie was employed at the Muenster Dress Factory for many years as a supervisor and sewed many articles of clothing for her family as well as the public.  After the dress factory closed, she went to work for Weber Aircraft sewing seat covers.  She retired from there in 1989.  Marie then worked as cook and cleaner for several years for the priests of St. Peter Parish.  Her hobbies included traveling, quilting, and crocheting.

A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay with Rev. Matthew Tatyrek officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Marie is survived by sister, Agnes Betzen of Celina; sister, Betty Hellman of Lindsay; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Marcella Zimmerer of Lindsay; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Bernard, Frank, Herman Jr., Clarence, Alcuin, and Alvin; and her sisters: Sister Mary Rose, Sister Herman Mary, and Sister Barbara.
