Mark Joseph Hermes

A Memorial Mass for Mark Joseph Hermes, 79, of Woodbine, is scheduled for 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mr. Hermes passed away on April 19, 2020 in Woodbine.

Mark was born December 30, 1940 in Lindsay, TX to Anthony Henry and Theresa Mary (Koesler) Hermes.  He graduated from Subiaco Academy in 1959 and attended one year of college there.  Mr. Hermes married Dolores Margaret Koelzer on October 5, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster.  He worked in the oil field and as a dairy farmer.  Mr. Hermes was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed fishing in his free time.

Survivors include: wife Dolores Koelzer Hermes of Woodbine; daughter Michelle Hermes of Woodbine; son Chris Hermes of Woodbine; daughter Leah Groce and husband Jared of Era, TX; daughter Karen Mendoza and husband Guadalupe of Krum, TX; grandchildren: Alex, Jacki, Sami, Dustin, and Dakota; great-grandchildren: Dustin and Abigail; sister Rosemary Dankesreiter and husband Tommy of Muenster; brother Ralph Hermes and wife Debbie of Collinsville, TX; brother Francis Hermes of Lindsay; brother-in-law Victor Koelzer; sister-in-law Aileen Knabe of Muenster; brother-in-law Wilfred Koelzer of Keller, TX; sister-in-law Alice Hermes of Lindsay; sister-in-law Veronica Jones of Madill, OK; brother-in-law Norman Koelzer of Muenster; and brother-in-law Melvin Koelzer and wife Bobbie of Muenster.

Mr. Hermes was preceded in death by: his parents; brother Cecil Hermes; brother Cyril Hermes; and brother Randy Hermes.
