Marsha Nelson

Marsha Nelson, 66, of Gainesville, passed away January 29, 2022 in Gainesville.

Marsha was born March 25, 1955, first born beloved daughter of James F. Compton and Erma Dean (Howell) Compton.  She attended Denison schools and graduated from Denison High School in 1973.  She married her soulmate and love of her life, David K. Nelson, on May 29, 2004 in Gainesville.

Survivors include: husband, David Nelson; son, Bryant Nelson and wife, Amber; son, Tyler Nelson and wife, Breanna; son, Riley Nelson and wife, Ashlynd; grandsons: Ryder Nelson, Tristan Nelson, and one to come; sister, Becky Hesse and husband, Loyd; aunt, Linda Watson and husband, Paul; aunt, Ruby Howell; aunt, Charlene Compton; niece, Megan Hesse; nephew, Ryan Hesse; great-niece, Emily Hesse; and host of loving cousins and precious friends.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, February 1 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Mickey Lyles officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are: Bryant Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Riley Nelson, Ryan Hesse, Michael Parkhill, and Jason Parkhill.
