Martha Westbrook Simpson

The memorial service for Martha Joyce (Blankenship) Westbrook Simpson, 83, of Callisburg, is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Martha passed away February 9, 2019 in Callisburg.

Martha was born December 7, 1935 at home in Cooke County to Leonard and Pauline (Cole) Blankenship and raised in Callisburg.  She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for more than 30 years, retiring from Gainesville Memorial Hospital.  She was a dedicated member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and dancing.

Survivors include: husband Lewis Simpson; daughter Teena Westbrook of Callisburg; daughter Kathy Shugart and husband David of Callisburg son Steve Westbrook and wife Billie Jo of Callisburg; daughter-in-law Sherry Westbrook of Callisburg; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister Brenda Threadgill and husband Matt of Lake Kiowa.

Martha was preceded in death by: her parents; sister Mary Jo Blankenship; brother Leonard Ray Blankenship; son Dale Westbrook; son Randy Westbrook; and grandson Aaron Westbrook.
