Mary Leslie (Bridges) Davis, born June 13th, 1926 in West, Texas, passed from here to glory on June 23, 2021, at 95 years old.
Although our hearts are saddened, we are excited to celebrate the life of one of the Greatest Generation.

Survivors include her children: Larry (Carol) Browning of Rockwall, TX, Richard (Sharon) Browning of Gainesville, TX, and Pat (Frank) Allums of Beckville, TX; 13 grandchildren: Christy (Gary) Bond, Johnny Michael Browning, Daniel (Esther) Browning, Jaimi Browning, Melody (Neto) Chavez, Brad (Juili) Browning, April (Todd) Towle, Leslie Browning, Kairee (Bianca) Torres, Jennifer (Dakota) Blythe, Tammy Allums, Misty (Philip) Weedon, and Toni (Tim) Harkrider; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and 2 more on the way.
Mary loved to paint and gave many of her pictures to family and friends. She worked at Gainesville Memorial Hospital and Linda Jo Shoe Factory for many years. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Gainesville Chapter 1123 OES, where she served for 38 years, and also served on the Keep Gainesville Beautiful Committee. She loved her animals, with the last one being a cat named Halo. Mary was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Gainesville and she loved to sing in the choir.
Friends, family and yes, all of you grandkids too, have a vault full of moments, of recollections, that only you will recall; of special memories, some may bring a tear and some sadness, but some should also bring some smiles, too. So, remember those good times, those fun times; dwell on those, share those, remember those, and pass them down. Then make some of your own memories because someone who loves you is counting on you to do it. Maybe not today, but someday when they look back and say, “If only I had taken the time…”
The family will have a private memorial service in Hillsboro at a date to be determined.
Donations can be made to a charity of your choice or Tabernacle Baptist Church in Gainesville, Texas.
