Mary Frances (Knabe) Kennedy

August 31, 1946 — June 2, 2018

Funeral services for Mary Frances (Knabe) Kennedy, 71, of Whitesboro, are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Jacob Newman and Rev. Raymond England officiating.  Interment will follow at High Point Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 7 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son.

Mrs. Kennedy passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born August 31, 1946 in Muenster to Albert August and Frances Elizabeth (Sprengel) Knabe.  She was raised and graduated from high school in Muenster.  She met David H Kennedy on October 17, 1964 at a dance at the VFW Hall.  They were married on May 27, 1967 and just celebrated 51 years together.  Mary raised six children, instilling in them a strong religious faith and the importance of family values.  She was an active member of her church and loved the Lord with all her heart.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, painting personalized Christmas ornaments and making blankets for the grandchildren she loved.  She worked occasionally as a seamstress and enjoyed planting flowers.  Mary also had a love for animals, especially cats.

Mrs. Kennedy leaves behind to cherish her memory: husband David H. Kennedy of Whitesboro; son Toby Kennedy and wife Kim of Whitesboro; son James Kennedy and wife Carolyn of Whitesboro; daughter Connie Newman and husband Greg of Keller; son Troy Kennedy of Whitesboro; son Shane Kennedy and wife Angela of Whitesboro; daughter Amanda Cash and husband Lee of Port Neches; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include: sister Margie Starke and husband Henry of Muenster; sister Betty Gibbs of Muenster; brother Andy Knabe of Muenster; brother Henry Knabe and wife Marlen of Muenster; brother Eddie Knabe and wife Debbie of Gainesville; sister Gerrie Burr and husband Doug of Whitesboro; sister Clara Lutkenhaus and husband Jan of Muenster; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by: her parents; granddaughter Victoria Kennedy; sister Roseanne Knabe; brother Augie Knabe; and brother-in-law J.D. Gibbs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Home Hospice; or Trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison.
