Mary V. Porter

Mary V. Porter, 78, of Gainesville, passed away February 16, 2023, in Denton.

Mary was born March 23, 1944 in Medina.  She married Gene Porter on March 17, 1961 in Gainesville.  Mrs. Porter was employed at the Gainesville hospital’s cafeteria for over 40 years.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  Mrs. Porter enjoyed most her time spent with family, especially their cook-outs.

Survivors include:  son Kelly Porter and wife Pam of Boyd; son Keith Porter and wife Anne of Gainesville; son Kenny Porter and wife Roxie of Gainesville; son Kary Porter of Gainesville; sister-in-law Connie Shults of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Steven Shults and wife Earlene of Thackerville, OK; brother Roy Cunningham and wife Butchie of Gainesville; sister Karen Ellis and husband Vep of Thackerville, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by: husband Gene Porter; mother Marie Cunningham; father Wilbur Shults; brother Joe Shults; and daughter-in-law Cindy Porter.
