Mary Lou Sudduth, 81, of Valley View, TX, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022 in Gainesville, TX.

Mary was born on March 26, 1940 in Warren, TX, the seventh child to Howell and Bessie (Holland) Stephens.  After graduating from Woodville High School, she married Clinton Earl Howard and had three daughters: Tricia Barthold, Lisa Bryant, and Janet McCrary.  In 1966, she married Doyle McCravey Sudduth and they enjoyed 45 years together.  Mary worked for Valley View ISD and UNT before her retirement.  She loved her family and her animals above all else and would do anything for them.  She loved trips to Galveston with the kids and fishing.

Mary is survived by her daughters: Tricia Barthold and husband, Bobby of Valley View, TX, Lisa Bryant of Valley View, TX, and Janet McCrary of Italy, TX; special nephew, Randy McLean and wife, Karen of Midlothian, TX; grandchildren: Cori Sutherland (Kurt), Chance Barthold (Sheena), Abby Enoch (Kirby), Andi Woolsey (Bradley), Adam Bryant (Crystal), Christopher McCrary (Alisha), Josh McCrary, and Matt McCrary (Jo); great-grandchildren: Canyon, Kate, Cope, Deegan, Gemma, Kobi, Joi, Ryli (Ryan), James, Landen, McKinna, Mason, Zac, and Bailey.

Mrs. Sudduth was preceded in death by: husband, Doyle Sudduth, parents, Howell and Bessie Stephens; brothers: Huey, Earnest, Richard, and Herman; sister, Loyce McLean; and sons-in-law: Mark McCrary and Anthony Bryant.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  A graveside service will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 10 at Spring Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter.
