Marynel Weaver Patterson

Marynel Patterson of Cambridge Shores, Pottsboro, Texas, passed on October 9, 2020 in Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas.

She was born on July 31, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Thurman and Virginia Weaver.  She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1955. Shortly after graduating, she decided to move to Arizona. There she started her career as a secretary to School Administrators. After the death of her mother she decided wanted to be closer to her sister, and this decision brought her to Gainesville, Texas. She worked for the Cooke County Special Education Department as a secretary. In 1985 she married Dean Patterson which started their 35 years of marriage. She joined Dean in helping with his hobby, Gainesville Swing Orchestra. They decided to retire in 2001 and moved to Cambridge Shores on Lake Texoma. There they enjoyed their over 19 years of retirement.

Marynel was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Nina, mother-in-law, two brother-in-laws, and two nephews.

She is survived by her husband Dean Patterson, brother-in-law, Jim Gordon, and many friends who will greatly miss her.

Services will be Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 6:00 PM with visitation following at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Marynel would prefer donations to Noah's Ark. She loved her pets, which were rescues.
