Maybelle Prelip

Funeral services for MayBelle Prelip, 93, of Gainesville are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Jestis officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville under the direction of the Geo.J. Carrol & Son Funeral Home.  A Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the funeral home preceding the funeral.

MayBelle was born on September 14, 1926 in Gainesville, TX to Barney and Ruby McDaniels Samek.  She passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Wheeler Place in Gainesville.  MayBelle was married to Guy Prelip on July 3, 1949 in Gainesville.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Doyle Smith of Forestburg; daughter and son-in-law Gloria and Bill Hoselton of Fort Mill, SC ; son Frank Prelip and Linda DeLoof of Arlington; son-in-law Larry Hammonds of Bedford; 7 grandchildren;  10 great-grandchildren; sisters  Juanita Prelip; Della Samek; Deloris and husband Neil Hart; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

MayBelle was preceded in death by her parents, husband Guy Prelip in 2012, daughter Diane Hammonds in 2011, infant son John David Prelip and one sister and brother –in-law, Louise and Gerald Kennedy.

Pall bearers will be grandsons Duke Smith, Stephen Hammonds, Doug Hammonds and great-grandsons, J.T. Gregg, Ben Smith, and Mason Smith.

The family would like to express their eternal gratitude for the exceptional loving care MayBelle received at Wheeler Place Assisted Living in Gainesville, her home for the past seven years.
