Maycee Marie Simpson 7, of Gainesville suffered a seizure followed by cardiac arrest, caused by SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in Epilepsy) on June 1, 2023. Maycee passed away at Cook Children’s hospital in Fort Worth on June 6. Family visitation will be held June 9 from 6-8pm and services will be held June 10 at 2pm at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Maycee Marie Simpson was born January 11, 2016 to Chad and Lynzee Simpson. From the day she was born the world was a brighter place; her charismatic smile could light up a room. She enjoyed everything she came across from just a toy car to going to school. Maycee lived her life the way we all should, happy and carefree. Maycee loved anything on YouTube she could find to watch, and loved to watch the Texas Rangers baseball or Green Bay Packers football. Her favorite foods were chicken nuggets, broccoli, and pancakes, or anything if it had ketchup on it.
Maycee loved making videos, singing, doing flips, playing with her dogs, and playing games on her tablet. Her favorite songs were Lean On Me by Bill Withers, and Rolling in the Deep by Adele. If she met you once you were her friend; she didn't know a stranger. She made an impact on so many lives.
Maycee was a beautiful, generous, and vivacious seven-year-old. Every day was an amazing day to her. She could find the good in the worst times. Maycee became the superhero she always wanted to be and was able to donate to help others in need. She always said sharing is caring and that's exactly what she's doing.
Maycee is survived by her parents Chad and Lynzee Simpson; sister Madison Simpson; brothers Colton Simpson and Chase Reed; aunt Kelli Westbrook; uncle Matt Sicking and aunt Trena Gray; uncle Blake Sicking and wife Jessica; grandmother Sherry Westbrook; great-grandfather Bob Lemons; great-uncle Ronnie Lemons; great-aunt Michele Scheibel and husband Tracy; Godparents Danelle Mims and Ronnie Manuel; special friends Melissa Derheim, Jenna Burk, Brittany Gates, Kathryn Creeks, and Pamela Franklin; cousins Ryan Sicking, Hannah, Caleb and Brooklyn Sicking.
