Merle June Shinpoch

Funeral services for Merle June (Schmid) Shinpoch, 92, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Gainesville with Pastor Scott Sundbye officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 1:00 PM one hour prior to the service.
Merle was born June 4, 1925 in Aurora, Illinois to John Fredrick Schmid and Erna (Hopper) Schmid. She passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 in Gainesville.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Gilbreath and her husband John of Whitesboro; daughter Kathy Patterson and her husband Richard of Gordonville; grandchildren Kara Patterson and husband Steve, Gina McKee and husband Todd, Kyle Patterson and wife Kari, and Clay Bailey and wife Angela; great-grandchildren Blair McGill and husband Zac, Tanner Patterson, Kodi Patterson, Kace Patterson, Braydon Abernethy, and Carsyn Bailey; great-great-grandchildren Addisyn McGill, and Tymber McGill.
Merle was preceded in death by her parents; husband George Shinpoch, and brother John Schmid.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church of Gainesville.
