Loving wife and mother, Monica Jeanette (Grubaugh) Westbrook, passed away on April 27, 2022, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Prosper, Texas surrounded by her family. She was born September 28, 1964, in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Her love of music started at an early age with piano lessons. Her creativity carried over into her other hobbies of painting, quilting, embroidery, sewing, & furniture restoration.
Monica attended Mineral Wells schools, beginning with kindergarten at the Little Red Schoolhouse and graduated from Mineral Wells high school in 1983 with honors. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and was also in the high school choir. After graduation she worked at Perry Equipment Corporation there in Mineral Wells.
Monica was a substitute teacher at Callisburg school district for many years, eventually, becoming a certified teacher’s aide. Later on, after beating breast cancer the first time, she went back to school and in January of 2020, Monica became a licensed dental assistant.
She married the love of her life, Dee Westbrook, on June 1, 1985, in Sherman, Texas, and they were happily married until his death in 2014. She was devoted to her husband and their daughters, training them to be devoted to God and followers of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters Meghann Westbrook, Emily Fields and husband Landon Fields, and DeLynn Farrar and husband Matthew Farrar. Her granddaughter Addison Fields and future grandson Lane Dee Fields. Her mother Doris Ashley, and her younger brothers Linc Grubaugh and Payton Grubaugh. Her father and mother-in-law Doyle and Dean Westbrook. Her sisters-in-law Sherlynn Finch and husband Everett Finch, and Deanna Farr and husband Calvin Farr. Her nephew Clint Finch and wife Carlie Finch. Her niece Holly McNeely and husband Clay McNeely. Her great niece Anika McNeely and great nephew Ari McNeely.
Monica was laid to rest at Sharrock Cemetery in Walnut Bend, Saturday April 30, next to her husband.
