Nancy Ileene (Watson) Hoedebeck, was blessed to begin her eternal life with our Lord and Savior on Monday, September 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family holding her hand through every step.
Nancy will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother to many and also as an amazing friend and someone you could always count on to be there. She was very involved in her community and loved to volunteer her time to any organization that needed her including but not limited to CHEW (Meals on Wheels), PTA, reading programs at the library, and a long-standing member of the Extension Education Club of Cooke County and Downard Fairplains Community Center. Nancy was a long-standing member of Temple Baptist Church. She had a big heart and loved others with all of it until the end.
Nancy was born to Harvey and Elva Watson on July 7, 1943 in Gainesville, Texas. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1961 and went on to study at Mary Hardin Baylor.
Nancy and Danny knew each other back in high school, but did not start dating until the Spring of 1972. They were then married on December 10, 1973 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville, Texas and would have been celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary this year. Nancy loved a good party, and she let us know that she wanted a party after she was gone, so we will be honoring her wish by celebrating her, and their 50th wedding anniversary, on November 4, 2023 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Downard Fairplains Community Center and invite all to attend.
Nancy is survived by her children, Susan (Curtis) and husband, Kelly Patton; Keith and wife, Pam Hoedebeck; Sandy (Curtis) and husband Eric Geyer; Holli and husband Jon Knabe, Misty & husband, Greg Links and Ashley and husband, Wesley Speegle, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Janette Smith and Linda Brumlow and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey & Elva Watson and sister, Beth Watson Sellers.
