Nancy was born July 22, 1933, in Gainesville, TX to Charley and Ethel Plumlee Kammerdiener, the third of nine children.  She grew up on a dairy farm south of Gainesville and attended a one-room school house before graduating from Gainesville High School.  She met the love of her life, Martin Krahl, whose family lived next door to the Kammerdiener family on their dairy farm.  They were married on June 5, 1950, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville.

The couple retired from the dairy business in the 1980s after which time they established a beef cattle business until Martin’s death on November 20, 2002.  She was a dedicated advocate of the unborn and supporter of All Babies Born Alive (ABBA). Nancy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville and St. John’s Catholic Church in Valley View for more than 65 years.
