Norma Jean Leslie

Graveside services for Norma Jean Leslie, 82, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery with Fr. Jeffrey Stubbs officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Leslie passed away August 23, 2019 in Gainesville.

Norma was born March 4, 1937 in Hudson, OH to Michael and Rose (Simile) Salvato.  She married Charles Joseph Leslie on July 19, 1957 in Angola, IN.  The couple moved to Gainesville in 1965.  Mrs. Leslie worked for Carroll Sullivant for nine years as a typist, was a secretary for Farm Bureau Insurance and Gainesville National Bank for many years, worked at Gainesville Memorial hospital for 16 years, and most recently, was secretary at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for over 10 years.  She served as president of the local chapter of the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation (BPW) for many years.  Mrs. Leslie taught crocheting and enjoyed knitting, as well as other crafts.

Survivors include: husband Charles Leslie of Gainesville; sister Josephine Ornouski and husband Raymond of Akron, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Leslie was preceded in death by her parents.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are: Jerry Tucker, David Tucker, Jeff Nichols, and Shane Nichols.
