Norma Cassie Mcnew

Norma Cassie Kammerdiener McNew was born on October 22, 1940 in Gainesville,

Texas to Charley and Ethel Kammerdiener. She was a graduate of Gainesville High

School in 1958. She married Robert Frank McNew on March 20, 1958 and remained

married for 62 years until the time of Robert’s death. She was an active member of the

Callisburg Church of Christ and she provided a remarkable example of a wife and

mother.

Norma was an avid reader and gardener. She reared four children, multiple

grandchildren and chronicled their lives with photos captured in detailed albums. In

addition to raising her family, she worked as a seamstress and administrative assistant

for many years.

Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Survivors include:  son Joe McNew and wife Heather of Allen, son James McNew and wife Betsy of

Houston, daughter Kim Bossert and husband Bill of Bostic NC; grandchildren Brandi,

Morgan, Zoe, Nick, Adam, Brittany, and Jared; five great-grandchildren, brother Bryan

Kammerdiener and wife Terrie of Gainesville, and sister Polly Bevil of Madison WI.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her son Robert Jr., her parents

Charley and Ethel Kammerdiener, her sisters Doreen Kammerdiener, Nancy Krahl,

Gladys Anglin, Thelma Sue Austin, and her brothers, Charley Kammerdiener Jr, and

Clifford Kammerdiener.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2022 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Kammerdiener officiating.  A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
