Palma Gene Hildebrand, 97, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away January 29, 2025 at Wesley House Assisted Living, Gainesville. She was born on July 11, 1927 in Gainesville to Palmer and Augusta (Lance) Purgason.

Palma grew up in the oil fields of Oklahoma, her family had to travel a lot because her father was a pipeline welder in the industry. Her and her family finally settled in Gainesville when she was a senior in high school. She met the love of her life, Charlie Hildebrand and they were married on May 6, 1949 at the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. For many years Palma worked for the county extension office at the courthouse in Gainesville until she had her children and then became a stay-at-home mother for them until they were teenagers. She then went on to become a Real Estate Agent and worked until her retirement at the age of 70. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. She loved to participate in Church activities. She was also a member of the garden club, bridge club and book club.

Palma is survived by her son Kent Hildebrand (Linda), daughter Andrea Hogue (Chris) and their three children; granddaughters Misty Wolfe, Krysta Hildebrand, Stephanie Foster (Adam), Martha Sabo (Jan), and Anna Hildebrand; great-grandchildren Josh, Jeff, Abby, Clara, Eva, Lexie, Carter, Saylor, Braylon, Brynlee, and Braylie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her son Pal Hildebrand.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville with Pastor Adam Spore officiating.
