Peggy Jean Ashton

Graveside services for Peggy Jean Ashton, 91, of Gainesville, are set for 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. A visitation will be held at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral home on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Peggy was born on March 21, 1929 in Hominy, OK to Frank Rudisell and Gladys (Oglesby) Rudisell. She passed away on January 29, 2021 in Gainesville.

Peggy's love for life was very contagious. Her hobbies included golfing, bowling, painting, arts & crafts, playing bridge, canasta, and reading romance novels. She was a very loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and nana. We will miss her dearly, but know that she has gone home to our Lord and Savior. It makes our hearts smile knowing that she is celebrating her homecoming with her husband, Don.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Donna Chapman and her husband John of Lake Kiowa; daughter Rhonda Engle and her husband Ken of Friendswood; grandson Kenny Engle; grandson Matthew Engle; and great-grandson Brandon Engle. She is also survived by her brother Jim Rudisell and his wife Julie of Loveland, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don Ashton; and brother Jack Rudisell.
