Phil Johnson, 79, of Allen, passed away April 26, 2024 in McKinney.

Phil was born September 15, 1944 in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School.  He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in South Korea.  Mr. Johnson settled in the Dallas area and worked as a plant manager at a manufacturing facility.  In his free time, he enjoyed conducting genealogy research.  He also enjoyed cooking and feeding his family, whom he loved dearly.

Survived by: wife Shirley Ross of Allen; son Clint Johnson and wife Shonda of Mabank; daughter Angela Ashley; grandchildren Taylor Tobey and husband Matt of Mabank and Colbey Johnson and wife Megan of Canton; great-grandchildren Kaydence Tobey, Parker Johnson, and River Tobey; sister Brenda Haygood of Hugo, OK; brother-in-law John Roane of Valley View; niece Cindy Chadwick; and nephews Brent Wilkerson, Derek Eades, and J.D. Roane.

Predeceased by: parents Ernest Johnson and Sally (Carter) Wright; and sister Gail Roane.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends, beginning at 1:00 p.m., and a funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
