Raymond Bernard Sandmann

Raymond Bernard Sandmann, 92, of Lindsay, passed away June 26, 2021 in Gainesville.

Raymond was born January 23, 1929 in Gainesville to William and Anna (Stoeck) Sandmann.  He was a graduate of Lindsay High School.  Mr. Sandmann married Rosalie Beyer on September 1, 1956 in Lindsay.  The family lived in Lindsay until 1977 when they moved to the farm south of Lindsay that had been in the family for three generations.  Mr. Sandmann retired from National Supply following 35 years of employment and became a full-time farmer.  He was an Army veteran and faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include: wife of 64 years, Rosalie Sandmann; son, Ronnie Sandmann and wife, Gay of Lindsay; daughter, Madeline Kleid of Austin; grandchildren: Stacie Myers and Brian Sandmann; four great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Sandmann of Lindsay; brother Paul Sandmann and wife, Maxine of Lindsay; and sister, Margie Rohmer of Muenster.

Mr. Sandmann was preceded in death by: parents, William and Anna Sandmann; sister, Alma Stoffels and husband, Herman; sister, Alice Hennigan and husband, Pat; sister, Marcella Hess and husband, John Louis; brother-in-law, Tony Rohmer; and sister-in-law, Aileen Sandmann.

A Rosary Service is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, following which the family will receive friends.  A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev.  Matthew Tatyrek officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are: Brian Sandmann, Luke Myers, Mason Myers, Nick Sandmann, Jeff Sandmann, and Curtis Conaway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Lindsay, TX; or a local hospice organization of one’s choosing.
