Richard "Terry" Mecca

Richard Terrance “Terry” Mecca, 68, of Woodbine, passed away March 17, 2022 in Woodbine.

Terry was born June 10, 1953 in Ridgway, PA.  His family moved to Texas in the spring of 1954, and he graduated from Gainesville High School in 1971.  Terry married Nancy Milam on June 7, 1974 in Gainesville.  He was a welder and also worked for Polypipe, ACME Brick, and RMI.  Terry enjoyed treasure hunting at the flea markets in Canton and McKinney, where he was also a vendor.  He and Nancy looked forward to their annual License Plate Convention trips, his favorite destination being San Francisco.

Terry was preceded in death by: parents, Dick and Roumaine Mecca; parents-in-law, George and Sarah Milam; brother-in-law, Bobby Boaz; brother-in-law, Joe Milam; brother-in-law, Mike Milam; and sister-in-law, Judy Burba.

Survivors include: wife, Nancy Milam Mecca of Woodbine; son, William Mecca of Denton; sister, Debbie Boaz of Woodbine; sister, Dawn Porter and husband, Ralph of Gainesville; sister, Pam of Dallas; sister, René Knauf and husband, Don of Lindsay; brother-in-law, Charlie Milam and wife, Sherry of Thackerville, OK; brother-in-law, Bill Milam of Denton; brother-in-law, Ed Milam and wife, Suzzane of Clinton, MS; brother-in-law, David Milam and wife, Delores of Marietta, OK; sister-in-law, Brenda Milam of Gainesville; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 27, at the Mecca’s residence in Woodbine.
