Rita King

Graveside services for Rita King, 81, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating.  The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 PM at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday.

Mrs. King passed away July 26, 2020 in Commerce.

Rita was born January 23, 1939 in Greenwood, TX to Jesse and Myrtle Wilson.  She married A.J. King on July 2, 1955.  Rita was a homemaker, loved browsing thrift stores, and her Wal-Mart trips with Joan.

Survivors include: daughter Elaine Gardner and husband Danny; son Richard King; grandchildren: Jeff Leaton and wife Amy, Dawn Simmons and husband Chad, Randi Jones and husband TJ, Misti Gardner, Teri Cawthon and husband Alex; ten great-grandchildren; sister Jean Thompson and husband Jon; brother Paul Wilson and wife Vickie; brother Kenneth Wilson and wife Karen; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. King was preceded in death by her parents; husband A.J. King; stepson Robert Cavage; grandson Greg King; great-grandsons Grayson and Parker Jones; and sister Joan Alexander.
