Robert Wayne “Robby” Autry, 80, of Gainesville, TX, passed away January 14, 2024 in Gainesville.

Robby was born in Gainesville on October 22, 1943, to Jesse Glenn “Buddy” Autry and Ella “Lucille” (Rivoire) Autry.  He grew up in Gainesville and attended Gainesville schools.  While in high school, Robby participated in football for four years and track for two years.  He was also active in the FFA, serving as President his sophomore year.  After graduating in 1963, Robby attended North Texas State University and received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville.

Robby is survived by his son, John Ross Autry; mother of his children, Lori Plumlee Autry; sister-in-law, Jeanie Autry; nephews, Daubie and Corie Autry; niece, Pamela Doyle; aunt, Olivia Rivoire; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Robby was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronnie Autry.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.  A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, at the funeral home.  A committal service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.  You may register your condolences online at www.geojcarroll.com.
