Robert Edward Chapman Jr.

Robert Edward Chapman Jr. ,  84 , of Gainesville , Texas  went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 30, 2024. He passed at Texoma Medical Center  Denison , Texas, surrounded by loved ones.  He was born on January 4, 1940  in Sivells Bend , Texas  to Robert  and Ruby  (Johnson) Chapman .

Robert graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1958. He then went on to marry the love of his life, Barbara Bullard on June 5, 1964. He retired from the oil field in 2006. Robert was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church of Gainesville, Texas for over 50 years where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and also sang in the choir. He spent his life sharing the message of Christ with everyone he met. Robert not only shared the Gospel but he put it to action by volunteering as a foster grandparent for over 10 years. He absolutely loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking them fishing, enjoyed playing solitaire, teasing people and telling jokes and old stories.

Robert  is survived by his loving wife Barbara Chapman of Gainesville, two daughters; Tami Henry of Whitesboro,  and Traci King of Gainesville, grandchildren; Lauren Johnson (Dakota) of Overbrook, Oklahoma,  Robert Alvarado (Cassidy) of Sherman, Dalton McConnell of Allen, 7 great grandchildren; Mia, Micah, Drake, Myla, Marcellus, Madelyn and Paisley, brother Tom Chapman (Nan) of Arlington, brother in law Steve Bullard of Gainesville and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jennifer Chapman, brother Richard Chapman, 2 sisters; Rosa Mohtasham and Judy Phelps and his father and mother in law; Herschel and Ruth Bullard.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 3, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church of Gainesville, Texas with visitation to follow. Pastor Scott Arant officiating.
