Robert Henry George, Jr. passed away at Denton Medical City Hospital on June 7, 2021

Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 5, 1947 to Robert Henry George, Sr. and Leila Marilyn (Haddock) George.  On August 1, 1949 Robert Sr, Leila, Robert and his younger sister Ellen relocated to Dallas, Texas.

Robert graduated from Bishop Dunn High School in 1966 and continued his education at Mountain View College and Cedar Valley College later on in life.

Immediately after graduating high school, Robert joined the United States Air Force.  During the Vietnam War, Robert was deployed to U-Tapao Air Force Base Thailand with the B-52’s Fortress Rolling Thunder Campaign 1970-1971.  Robert was then transferred to Dyess Air Force Base where he was later deployed with the B-52’s to Anderson Air Force Base Guam for the Linebacker 1 Operation in 1972.

After completing his duty with the Air Force, Robert went to work for Executive Aircraft at Love Field Airport and in 1978, began his career at K.C. Aviation.  Robert continued to work for K.C. Aviation for 20 years before moving on to Gulf Stream.  With his departure from Gulf Stream, Robert landed at McKinney Aerospace located in McKinney, Texas.  46-year career in the aviation industry, Robert finished his career at Green Point Aviation at the Denton Texas Airport.

During his time in aviation, Robert worked on the private jets for numerous celebrities and dignitaries including the former Prime Minister of Lebanon Tamman Salam, Yasser Arafat, the former Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization, John Kerry’s 2004 Presidential Campaign private jet, Texas Oilman Howard Hughes, actor and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, BET TV, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the King himself, Elvis Presley on the Convair 880, the Lisa Marie, and even pitched in on George Straits tour bus, to name a few.

In 1968, Robert married the love of his life Jackie (Nanny) George and celebrated their 53 rd wedding anniversary earlier this year, 2021.  They moved to Lancaster, Texas in 1974 before moving to the country to Woodbine, Texas 32 years later.

Robert’s final act was to give the gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donation.

Robert Henry George, Jr. is survived by his wife Jackie George, daughter Leila Campbell and fiancé Mike McCuller, son Christopher George and wife Tammye George, daughter Robin Perkins and husband Jeff Perkins. Grandchildren Leila Michelle and Collin; Amanda, Kerstyn, McKinzye and Chandlar; Aubrie and Caitlynn; and one great-grandson, Noah Reign. Sister Ellen Sagarwala and husband Akhtar Sagarwala, sister Mary Holcomb and husband Mike Holcomb, brother Richard George and wife Tamara George and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert Henry George, Jr. was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert Henry George Sr and wife Leila Marilyn George, and son in law, James Michael Campbell.

Robert's ashes will be interred at the DFW National Cemetery.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date for all family and friends.
