Ron "Woody" Wood

William Ronald Wood, 84, of Callisburg, passed away August 21, 2021 in Gainesville.

Mr. Wood was born January 10, 1937, to Locket Herschel Wood and Essie Faye Scott Wood at the home of his grandparents, John and Mary Scott, in the Flower Mound community of Denton County, Texas, but the doctor was from Keller and filed his birth in Tarrant County, Texas.  He was married on October 6, 1959 to Donnie Sue Holly in Bowie, TX.  Mr. Wood worked at National Supply for 27 years.

Survivors include: wife, Sue Wood; children: Bill Wood, Ann Wood, Jana Schmidlkofer (Leroy), and Wesley Wood; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by: his parents; and one great-grandchild, Tanner Stewart.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 25, in the pavilion of New Hope Cemetery.
