Ronald William Dedoes

A memorial service for Ronald William DeDoes, 84, of Collinsville, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville, Texas with Rev. John Fleming officiating.  A visitation will be held immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

Mr. DeDoes passed away on June 19, 2019 in Sherman.  He was born November 15, 1934 in Kalamazoo, MI to Bill and Nelle (Slager) DeDoes.

Ronald married Shirley Marie DeWitt on September 6, 1957 in Zeeland, MI.  Most of his career was spent as vice president of Manufacturing at Vecta Contract in Dallas.  He was a member of the North Texas Chorale and Butterfield Stage Players.  He served as president of both Habitat for Humanity and Woodbine Water Supply.  At First United Methodist, Ron was a Sunday school teacher, member of the Church Choir, and served on various boards and committees.

Mr. DeDoes was a scratch golfer, a talented woodworker, accomplished handyman, and took pleasure in performing ranch maintenance on his property.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley DeDoes of Collinsville; son and daughter-in-law David and Sherri DeDoes of Richardson; son and daughter-in-law Paul and Zhanna DeDoes of Glendale, CA; daughter and son-in-law Janet and Steve Hall of Weaverville, NC; grandchildren Nicole, Daniel, and Jonathan; brothers Ray (Hilda) DeDoes, Jim (Pat) DeDoes, Bill (Jodi) DeDoes, Adrian (Audrey) DeDoes; sisters Carole Culley, Ruth Batts, and Mary (Freddy) Burt.
