Ronald John Schumacher, 60, of Gainesville, passed away on September 9, 2021, in Fort Worth. After a valiant struggle, he succumbed to complications following a stroke he suffered on July 9.
Ronnie was born November 24, 1960 in Gainesville. He graduated from St. Mary’s School and Gainesville High School. Mr. Schumacher was a Senior on the 1978-79 State runner-up football team and also played baseball. He served in the National Guard after high school. Mr. Schumacher was a hard-working man and a true outdoorsman. Although he enjoyed camping and cooking out, his true love was farming. Mr. Schumacher loved his family dearly and cherished his time spent with nieces and nephews.
Mr. Schumacher was preceded in death by: father, Melvin Schumacher; brother, Gary Schumacher; and nephew, Jacob Schumacher.
Survivors include: mother, Patsy Schumacher of Gainesville; brother, Dale Schumacher of Gainesville; brother, Kenny Schumacher of Gainesville; sister Karen Privett and husband, Sonny of Gainesville; brother, Dennis Schumacher and wife, Diana of Gainesville; brother, Jerry Schumacher and wife, Sandra of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Bonnie Schumacher of Gainesville; nine nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends following a Rosary service that will begin at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 12, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s School.
