Funeral services for Ronald “Ronnie” Joe Talley, 66, of Lake Kiowa, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 26, 2021, at Gethsemane Baptist Church, Gainesville, with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating.  Interment will follow at Center Point Cemetery, Saint Jo.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 25 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.

Mr. Talley passed away March 20, 2021 in Sherman.

Ronnie was born December 28, 1954 in Saint Jo, TX to Orville Almer and Ethel May (Dickerson) Talley.  He grew up and graduated high school in Saint Jo.  On March 9, 1973, Ronnie married Karen Williams.  In 1974, he was employed by Haliburton in Snyder, TX and worked with them throughout Texas, with a stint in Tripoli, Libya, Africa and lastly, in 1981 the family moved to Gainesville.  In 1987, Ronnie began working at Alan Ritchey, Inc. in Valley View, Texas, where he worked for 34 years before retiring.  He loved the lake, fishing, and could be found on almost any nice day cruising around Lake Kiowa on his golf cart.

Survivors include: wife, Karen Talley of Lake Kiowa; son, Jared Talley and wife, Mandy of Lake Kiowa; son, Randall Talley and wife, Meredith of Dallas; five grandchildren: Chandler, Grace, Maycee, Claire, and Jack; brothers: Alvin, Alford, Gerald, and Jerry; and sister, Catherine.

Mr. Talley was preceded in death by: parents, Orville and Ethel Talley; and brother, Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County, or Lake Kiowa Kiwanis Club.
