Roy Lee Raney

Funeral services for Roy Raney, 43, of Rosston, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 11, 2021, at First Rosston Church with Harold Bowles officiating.  Interment will follow at Rosston Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Mr. Raney passed away June 5, 2021 in Forestburg, TX

Roy was born April 24, 1978 in Muenster and spent the majority of his life around Rosston.  He graduated from Era High School and had a long career in the oil field as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver.  Mr. Raney enjoyed sports, traveling, and spending time outdoors.  He was a gregarious person that could put a smile on anyone’s face.  One friend exclaimed, “Everyone needs a little Roy in their life.”  He loved people, but none more than his children.  Mr. Raney was the life of the party and will be missed greatly by family, friends, and his Beagle, J.R.

Survivors include: son, Steven Clayton Raney of Rosston; daughter, Bobbie Jean Raney of Henrietta; daughter, Raylee Kate Raney of Muenster; mother, Billie Raney Ferrell of Gainesville; sister, Robin Ferrell Wilson and husband, Randy of Valley View; brother, Robert Breece Ferrell of League City; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Raney was preceded in death by: parents, Eddie and Brenda Raney; grandparents, Forrest and Angie Raney; grandparents, Curtis and Carol Holland; and brother, Clayton James Ferrell.

Serving as pallbearers are: Jody Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Kenny Blanton, Steven Raney, Kevin Bruce, and Jerry Beaver.
