Rollin Russell “Rusty” Wilson, Jr., 86, of Forestburg, TX, passed away November 4, 2023 in Denton, TX.

Rusty was born September 17, 1937 in Harrold, TX.  He attended Harrold school before enlisting in the Army.  Mr. Wilson worked in the oil field and piping industry.  He married Marie Adams on November 4, 2006 in Gainesville.  He was an avid sports fan, following the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers faithfully.  Mr. Wilson enjoyed four-wheeling and spending time with his dogs (Rocky, Rudy, and Skylar) and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Gainesville.  He was happiest when surrounded by family.

Survivors include: wife, Marie Wilson of Forestburg; grandchildren: Zack Wilson, Tyler Milligan (Poni), and Kenneth Milligan; five great-grandchildren; brother John Wilson (Linda) of Tyler, TX; brother Ray Wilson (Belinda) of Wichita Falls, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by: parents Rollin and Fayne (Cox) Wilson; first wife Mary Helen Urban Wilson; son Ricky Dean Wilson; granddaughter Kristen Wilson Owen; an infant great-grandson; step-daughter Kristi Johnson; three sisters; and two brothers.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, Gainesville.  The family will gather for a reception following the service at The Smokehouse, Lindsay.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or the Harrold Cemetery Fund, c/o Debbie Wolf, P.O.
