Ryan Thomas Haverkamp of Lindsay, Texas passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the age of 32. Ryan was born to Thomas Ray Haverkamp and Mayme Leah Metzler Haverkamp on October 13, 1991, in Denton, Texas.
He is survived by his loving family, parents Tommy and Mayme Haverkamp of Lindsay and siblings Emily, John, and Abigail; Grandparents Bill and Ethel Metzler of Lindsay; Grandmother Angela Haverkamp of Lindsay; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and honorary nieces and nephews.
Ryan graduated from Lindsay High School in 2010. He was a gifted student and athlete, and excelled in football, basketball, baseball and track.
A lively and outgoing son, brother and friend to all, Ryan will be greatly missed by many. Those who met Ryan truly understood the value he placed on friendship and his undeniable ability to befriend anyone who crossed his path. He sincerely never met a stranger. Ryan was known by his friends and family to be one of the most loyal, funny, energetic and hardworking souls you could ever meet. His kind heart was exemplified by his willingness to help anyone, anytime, anywhere. His adventurous spirit, quick wit and wild nature left you with a smile on your face and a story to tell.
Through his close relationships with his grandfathers, Ryan was raised with an enthusiasm for farming and agriculture. This carried on throughout his life. Ryan also enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the shop, ATVs and anything to do with the Green Bay Packers. Whether it was for work or an annual hunting trip, Ryan was always hitting the road and living life to the fullest.
Ryan is preceded in death by his Grandfather Frank Haverkamp and cousin Samuel Zimmerer. Serving as pallbearers are Greg Luttmer, Tracey Seese, John Eberhart, Riley Metzler, John Wyrick, Ross Jones, John Widner and Ryan Kendall. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Haverkamp, Mitch Dieter, Matt Dieter, Matthew Eberhart, Jonathan Neu, Ben Wyrick, Matthew Massengale, Jason Schumacher, John Britain, Mario Alvarez and James Kelley.
Rosary, followed by visitation, will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024, at George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay. A committal service will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lindsay.
