Sally Haynie

Sally Haynie, 84, of Gainesville, passed away May 28, 2022 in Denison.

Sally was born June 2, 1937 in Sioux City, IA. She was raised in Boulder, CO and graduated high school there. Sally moved to Texas in 1976 and managed different bars and restaurants in the Dallas area before opening her own bed-and-breakfast in 1987. She taught senior fitness classes for many years until her recent illness.

Mrs. Haynie was preceded in death by: parents Roy H. and Mollie (Stark) Luckel; husband David Haynie; daughter Carrie Moody; sister Dixie; brother Wayne; and sister-in-law Iris Luckel.

Survivors include: son Barry Wolzen and wife Deadre of Gainesville; son Bart Wolzen and wife Jamie of Oklahoma City, OK; son Ed Haynie and wife Mary of El Paso; daughter Reba Shiel and husband Pat of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren: Jacob, Mollie, Brett, Madison, Jarred, Sarah, Josh, and Spencer; five great-grandchildren; and brother Ray Luckel of Chico, CA.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1823 Luther Ln, Gainesville, TX 76240.  Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
