Sandra Sue Sims

Sandra Sue (Bond) Sims, 76, of Gainesville, passed away January 19, 2021 in Gainesville.

Sandra was born January 13, 1945 in Gainesville to George Bazel and Abbanell Muriel (Wariner) Bond.  She was a member of Gainesville High School’s 1963 graduating class.  In 1966, Sandra married Charles Sims in Gainesville.  She was most at peace when outdoors.  Ms. Sims’ choice of career and hobbies always ensured she was in nature around plants, flowers, and animals.  She would never leave a stray unfed or neglected.  Ms. Sims met Cindy Martin four years ago and the two enjoyed the greatest years of their lives together.

Survivors include: life partner, Cindy Martin of Gainesville; son, Charles Edward Sims, Jr. of Callisburg; son, Steven Sims and wife, Kristie of Lindsay; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Thompson of Gainesville; brother, Harold Bond of Gainesville; and father of her children, Charles Sims.

Ms. Sims was preceded in death by: her parents; and brother, Mickey Bond.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the near future.
