Our dear mother, Sandra (Sandy) Sue Reese Sproles was only 73 when she passed away on February 23rd at her home in Whitesboro, TX with her family by her side. She was born December 2, 1949 in Wichita Falls, TX. She was a wonderful mother and friend to all who knew her.
In her early years she married Charles Wayne Lawson and had three beautiful children Michael, Jodi and Stacy. She also helped to raise her niece Patty. She worked many years for Certainteed, now Vetrotex America, as a purchasing agent. Later in life she remarried Gerald Sproles. In 2019 they were divorced and she moved in with her son-in-law and daughter in Whitesboro, TX, where she lived the remainder of her life. Sandy was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, and adored her church family for many years.
Sandy lived for Mexican food, ice cream, waffles and a hostess twinkies for breakfast. She loved to read her bible and devotionals, she loved the outdoors, especially on sunny days while she could enjoy looking at flowers and soaking up the sun’s rays. She loved living on the farm, getting her nails done, going to church and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Sandy is survived by her daughter, Jodi Harris, husband Jeff, daughter Stacy Agnes, husband Andy, grandchildren Kaylan Fleming and husband Matt, Colton Agnes and wife Shelby, Fiona Kennedy, Brittney Leonard, Kierstyn Harris, great-grandchildren Kynleigh Rogers-Fleming, Paislee and Charlee Agnes. In addition, she is survived by many cousins and close friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father Tommy Joe Reese, mother, Jackie Sue Peterson, stepfather Dr. Ralph Peterson, brother Joe Bryan Reese, son Michael Wayne Lawson, grandfather Buie Whitfield Bryan, grandmother “Peachy” Ruby Faye (Boyle) Mundy, and stepfather Lester Mundy, aunt Katherine “Kay” Boyle Bennett and uncle Earl Clinton “Jug” Bennet Jr. in addition to other family members.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 PM Monday, February 27, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro, 129 Center St. with Bro. Mike Flanagan officiating.
