Sara Cooper, 77, of Gainesville, passed away February 28, 2022 in Gainesville.

Sara was born November 16, 1944 in Gainesville.  She was raised on her family’s farm in Hood and attended Era schools, where she graduated in 1963.  She worked at Weber Aircraft (Zodiac) for 42 years before retiring.  Her favorite pastime was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Ms. Cooper was preceded in death by: parents, John and Elizabeth (Arendt) Hoberer; sisters: Joyce Nottingham and Sue Eades; brother, Edwin Hoberer; and sister-in-law, Judy Hoberer.

Survivors include: son, Scott Cooper and wife, Jo Ann of Gainesville; son, David Cooper of Gainesville; granddaughter, Kari Cooper; great-grandchildren: Isabel, Mia, and Emery; brothers: Gene Hoberer and wife, Waynell, John Hoberer, Larry Hoberer and wife, Connie, Thomas Hoberer and wife, Pam; and sisters: Barbara Wilmut, Judy Fuhrmann and husband, James, and Karen Hoberer.

The family will receive friends during a memorial visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
