Sarah Lois Davis (Black) age 70, died of natural causes on August 1, 2023. Sarah Davis was born on December 10, 1952 to Eugene and Margaret Black, Sr. in Paris, Texas.  She is survived by her daughter Cassandra Canes, grandson Alejandro Canes, granddaughter Traeli Calhoun, great-granddaughter Aliana Canes and great-grandson Elijah Canes.

Sarah attended school in Paris, TX.  She was an avid antique collector who also enjoyed gardening and going to garage sales.  Both parents preceded her in death along with a sister, Bessie Black and brother James Black.


Aside from her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sarah is survived by her siblings, Eugene (& Phyllis) Black, Jr., Daisy Black, Bryant Black, Alvin Jones, Shirley (& Robert) Minor and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She had a loving, kind and giving spirit.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home (602 Lindsay Street, Gainesville, TX) on Friday, August 11th from 2 to 3 p.m. The family will have a meal following the memorial service at 1100 Lawrence Street until 4p.m.
