Sharon Marie Covington

June 4, 1950 — January 29, 2021

Sharon Marie Covington (70) grew her wings on Friday, January 29 2021 at home surrounded by family.  She was born to Frank & Bernice Beyer on June 4th 1950.  She was the eldest of six children.

Sharon was definitely a country girl.  The first four years of her life she lived on a farm North of Lindsay with her parents and two brothers.  She also spent a lot of time on her grandmothers and grandfathers Grewings farm in Valley View.  Later her grandparents moved to Lindsay and her grandfather began his job as a custodian and bus driver for the Lindsay School district.  Sharon and her siblings would help him clean the Lindsay school, from which she would go on to graduate from in 1968.

Four years and many wild nights later, she proposed to the love of her life Ronny M. Covington and they got married on July 22,1950.  Less than a year later they were graced with their first child, Shawna Marie.  Three years later they were blessed with a second bundle of joy, Jennifer Ann.  They then bought a house on Floral Dr in 1979 where they received their third and final blessing Bryan Craig.  Over the next 45 years that house became a home to eight grandchildren and many memories.

Throughout her life she worked at several different businesses in the community,

including Joe Walters Lumber Company and Weber Aircraft, finally retiring from Industrial Models in 2013 after serving 20 years with the company.

Sharon's favorite thing to do was to spend time with her children and grandchildren.  She would drive near and far and hardly ever missed a recital, game or event.  She was their biggest cheerleader.  Sharon was also an avid bowler.  She competed in a Weber Aircraft bowling league and traveled to Corpus Christi for tournaments.  She was a very loyal and devoted Christian, wife, mother, and friend.  She was always encouraging and putting others wants and needs before her own.

Sharon is survived by her daughters Shawna Covington & Jennifer Brown; son Bryan Covington; eight grandchildren:  Caleb and Payton Covington, Brentney Coleman & Aaliyah Covington, Ebby, Jaxson, Austyn & Braedyn Covington; brother Glenn Beyer; sister and brother-in-law Judy and Doug Secrest; sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Damond Sandmann; along with many nieces, nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronny Covington, parents Frank and Brenice Beyer, sister Jannell Shannon, and brother Ricky Beyer.
