Shirley Martindale

Shirley Martindale, 71, of Gainesville, passed away November 20, 2022 in Denton.

Shirley was born August 6, 1951 in Gainesville and graduated from Valley View High School.  She married Eddy Martindale on February 2, 1970.  Mrs. Martindale worked at the Moss Lake Store but will be most remembered as the manager of Steppin’ Out Western Wear for over 20 years.  She enjoyed shopping and getting manicures and pedicures.  Mrs. Martindale was greatly involved with Brothers of Service Motorcycle Association, serving as BOS Lady for many years.

Mrs. Martindale was preceded in death by: parents Leonard Merl and Bertha Lorene (Kays) Branch; brother-in-law Arnold Brown; and brother-in-law Tommy Martindale.

Survivors include: husband of 52 years, Eddy Martindale of Gainesville; daughter Tammy McKnight and husband Larry of Gainesville; son Charles Martindale and wife Staci of Gainesville; grandchildren: Courtney Davis, Aaron Martindale, Anna Bragg, Sara Booher, Lauren Salgado, Samantha Collins, Kymberli Creswell, and Alex Tewes; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Alice Hall of Gainesville; sister-in-law Patsy Martindale of Duncan, OK; sister-in-law Melissa Yarbrough of Abilene; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022 at High Point Cemetery.  The family will receive friends during a Celebration of Life from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27 at the First State Bank Conference Center, 827 E. California St., Gainesville, TX 76240.  Arrangements are under the care of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
