Stephen Carleton Sparks

Funeral services for Stephen Carleton Sparks, 72, of Gainesville, are set for 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Preston Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 6:00 PM.
Steve was born on May 13, 1947 in Gainesville to Percy Calvin Sparks and Mary Jane (Zacharias) Sparks. He passed away on November 23, 2019 in Denton.
Steve graduated from Gainesville High School in 1965. He joined the U. S. Air Force and served four years.
He is survived by his son Colby Sparks and his wife Amy of Gainesville; daughter Whitni Saavedra and her husband Carlos of Gainesville; son Justin Sparks of Gainesville; son Austin Sparks of Gainesville; grandchildren Tag Sparks, Morgan Sparks, Draike Sparks, Solomon Saavedra; and his beloved dog Joe Kinda.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
