Susan Amelia Menzie

Susan Amelia Menzie, age 75, died of natural causes on December 7, 2021 in John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Susan was born on May 8, 1946 in Gainesville, TX to parents Joseph and Elizabeth Schully. She graduated from Gainesville High School and then received her cosmetology instructor license in 1970. She married Michael Menzie in 1972 and they had 2 boys together. Susan was a loving mother and grandmother.

Susan is survived by son, Matthew Menzie and wife, Michele of Denton, TX; son, Mark Menzie and wife, Carrie of Lindsay, TX; 4 grandchildren; sister, Jo Ellen (Jodi) Schully of Gainesville; brother, Dan Schully of Lindsay; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Michael Quest Menzie of Denton, TX; father, Joseph Ray Schully and mother, Elizabeth Ellen Schully of Gainesville, TX; and niece, Melissa Sue Schully of Grand Prairie, TX.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Susan’s life.
