Taylor Drake Johnson

April 16, 1992 — September 21, 2021

Taylor Drake Johnson,  passed from his life on Earth Tuesday evening, September 21, 2021, at the age of 29.

Taylor was born April 16, 1992, at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born to Bryan Alan Johnson and Christine Johnson. Through his early years, his military family lived in Biloxi, Mississippi, Tucson, Arizona, and Navarre, Florida. He and his brother, Cole, spent many childhood summers with his paternal grandparents at the family farm near Gainesville, Texas.  Taylor graduated high school while living in Navarre, Florida. Upon his father’s retirement, Taylor moved with him to their present home at Lake Kiowa, Texas.

He loved living in Texas and attended classes at North Central Texas College as his health would permit.  As Taylor fought valiantly through many serious medical issues from the age of fourteen and as a young adult, he began to have thoughts about his eternal life. In 2016, he made the choice to give his heart to Jesus Christ and was baptized.  He loved attending Callisburg Church of Christ and was an enthusiastic member there.

Left behind to cherish Taylor’s memory, he is survived by his devoted father and loving stepmother, Bryan and Shawna Johnson of Lake Kiowa, Texas;  brother, Cole Johnson of Denton, Texas; mother, Christine Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; paternal grandparents, Carroll and Nell Reta Johnson, Gainesville, Texas;  step-grandmother, Sherry Krahl, Lake Kiowa, Texas; maternal grandfather, Don Quatman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; aunts/uncles, LeAnn and Jeff Tucker, Denton, Texas, Melinda and Shawn Rouse, Corinth, Texas. Cousins, Garrett Cullum, Evelyn Rose Cullum, Desirae Hickson, Nicholas Pieschel, Eleanor Tucker, Foster Eberhart, Evan Eberhart, and Anna Marie Eberhart.  Taylor is also survived by numerous friends and those associated with his medical care through the years.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nadine Quatman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the New Hope Cemetery in Mountain Springs.
