Teresa "Tessie" Ann Waters

Teresa “Tessie” Ann Waters, 83, of Gainesville, passed away January 26, 2023 in Gainesville.

Tessie was born December 24, 1939 in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School.  She worked at the Sullivant Law Firm as a legal assistant for 45 years.  Mrs. Waters was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games and cards, especially Bridge.  She loved being among people and enjoyed hosting friends and family.  Mrs. Waters’ unconditional love for her family was the bond that pulled her family together.  Her care and generosity for her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren had no limit.

Survivors include: husband Phil Waters of Gainesville; son Bobby Snider and Cathy of Mansfield; daughter Sandy Brown and husband Dale of Argyle; her beloved grandchildren (six) and great-grandchildren (seven); brother Wynn Johnson and wife Rose of Lorena; sister Marlonett Hatch and husband Rick of Vancouver, BC, CA; sister-in-law Shirley Kellner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by: parents Garvis “Mutt” Dodd and Ozelle Johnson; son Chuck Snider; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Jerry Hadaway; and former husband of 43 years, Bill Snider.

The family invites you to join them in honoring and celebrating the life of Mrs. Waters.  A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Gainesville.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 5 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.
