Funeral services for Timothy Ronald Wimmer, 76, of Lindsay are set for 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Tatyrek officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter's Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A rosary with visitation to follow will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Tim was born on April 28, 1942 in Muenster to Lawrence Bernard Wimmer and Irene Catherine (Walterscheid) Wimmer. He passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in Denton.
He owned and operated Tim's Barber Shop in Lindsay from 1970 - 2012. Tim was the first Fire Chief of the Lindsay Volunteer Fire Department and served for 18 years. He announced the Lindsay High School football games and sang the National Anthem for 12 years.
Tim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eunice Wimmer of Lindsay; son Brad Wimmer and his wife Page of Krum; daughter Jolanda Fleitman and her husband Mark of Denton; grandchildren Tessa Wimmer, Jena Wimmer, Abby Wimmer, Trent Wimmer, Luke Fleitman, and Grace Fleitman. He is also survived by his sister Carol Gressett and her husband Tom of Muenster; brother Ray Wimmer and his wife Kaye of Lindsay; brother Willie Wimmer and his wife Margie of Muenster; sister Laurie Valliere and her husband Tom of Muenster; brother-in-law Frank Hess of Muenster; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Jeffery Wimmer; and sister Ruth Hess.
