Tommy Self

Michael T. “Tommy” Self, 66, of Oak Ridge, passed away October 1, 2018 in Oak Ridge.

Mr. Self was born August 2, 1952 in Fort Worth to Marion and Mary Ellen (Grant) Womacks.  He graduated from Callisburg High School and was a carpenter and welder by trade.  An intelligent man, Mr. Self could design and build anything from the ground up.  He volunteered for over 13 years with VFW Post 1922.  In his time of leisure, Mr. Self enjoyed boating, camping, and floating the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels.

Survivors include: wife Barbara Jean Jones of Oak Ridge; children: Cindy, Mike, and Amy; step-son Chris Jones and wife Tracy of Jourdanton; brother Chuck Womacks and friend Lou of Gainesville; brother Robert Self of Gainesville; and sister April Ballew and husband Larry of Gainesville.

Mr. Self was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Self.
