Anthony “Tony” Amoroso, 71, of Whitesboro, TX, passed away December 17, 2024 in Whitesboro.

Tony was born January 22, 1953 in Gainesville, TX.  He married Joanie Cooper on May 22, 2004 in Whitesboro.  Tony was gruff and didn’t show a lot of emotions, but he had a heart of gold - the biggest teddy bear you knew.  Tony worked for BNSF Railroad for over 30 years repairing the rails.  He enjoyed tending his vegetable garden, cooking with his smoker, and puttering on the tractor or lawn mower.  Tony took pride in caring for his animals and farm.  He loved his chickens, goats, sheep and dogs.  He truly loved his loyal Weimaraners, Miss Ellie, Jelly Bean, and Nellie Bear.  Most of all, he loved his family.  He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by: parents Ray and Eva Mae (Arnold) Amoroso; twin brother Michael Amoroso; brother Larry Amoroso; sisters Raye Dale Owen, Rocky Broyles, and Diane Amoroso; brothers-in-law Larry Culp, Danny Owen, and Robert Cooper; father-in-law Larry Cooper; nephew Perry Owen; and great-niece Stephanie Ferrell.

Survivors include: wife Joanie Amoroso of Whitesboro; son Patrick Amoroso of Gainesville; daughter Lynette Hobbs (husband Scotty) of Gordonville, TX; stepdaughters Jacqueline Wright (husband Derek) of Oklahoma City, OK and Jessica Pilcher (husband Josh) of Gainesville; grandchildren Raelyn, Braeden, Alyssa, Michael, Amber, Dillon, Chase, Maddie, Zane, Asher, Wyatt, Aubrey, Steven, and Payton; great-grandson Brantlee; sister Kathy Culp of Gainesville; half-brother Elgin Amoroso of Gainesville; half-sister Lisa Amoroso; nieces and nephews Kevin, Russell, Denise, Eva, Katrina, Shelly, David, Micah and Sean, Shelli and Jamie, Kim and Bryan, Butch and Lanna, Scott and Cindy, Danita and David, Sheila, Jeff, and Lindsay; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; mother-in-law Marie Cooper; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Tammy and Jim Svidron, Eumelia Cooper, Darryl and Heather Cooper, Larry Cooper, and Niki Cooper; and nieces and nephews Ben, Robert, Annie, John, Jackson, Larry, Presley, and Cody.
